Impact Gameworks was founded in 2016 by Andrew ‘zircon’ Aversa to fulfill a lifelong dream of creating games. We draw from the timeless art and sound of classic 16-bit titles, while working to elevate gameplay with modern sensibilities. We believe in not just recreating elements of games we grew up playing, but building on them.
We strive to create games that favor deep, tactical gameplay, creative thinking, and interesting decision-making. At the same time, we want our titles to be enjoyable by all gamers of all ages, from casual to hardcore. Our first title, the turn-based dungeon crawler Tangledeep, launched on Steam in 2018 and Nintendo Switch in 2019. Our second title, the JRPG-inspired puzzle-battle adventure Flowstone Saga, launched in 2024. We are currently developing Tangledeep 2.
zircon is the lead programmer, designer, and audio wizard of Impact Gameworks. His passion for games began with the Super Nintendo and extended through his career as a video game composer, writing music for titles like Soulcalibur V, Monkey Island 2 SE, and ReCore.
Andrew ‘OceansAndrew’ Luers (OA) is the lead artist of the studio, and the lead producer and composer of Flowstone Saga. His artwork and map designs have been a cornerstone of each of our games.
